How do I get started with Talkr?

Help Center

Create a free account

The first step is to register for a free account. This will allow you to listen to as many feeds as you want, all for free!

Tell Talkr which blogs and news sources interest you

You can tell Talkr which feeds (machine-readable blogs or news sources) interest you by "subscribing" to those feeds. There are two ways to find feeds:

Once you find a feed, click on the "subscribe" link to the right of the feed. Talkr will remember which feeds you have subscribed to. Don't worry -- if you later decide that you are not interested in one of these feeds, it is easy to "unsubscribe" them.

Visit your "My Feeds" page to access content from your feeds

You will see your "My Feeds" page as soon as you login to Talkr. In addition, you can always click on the "My Feeds" item in the left-hand toolbar. (Or just click here.)

If you click on the name of a feed, it will display all of your unread or saved items from that feed. Click on the "Listen to mp3" link next to each item to download the audio of that feed. Click on the "Save" checkbox to save a feed -- or to mark it as "Unsaved" if you have previously saved it.

Configure PodCasting

If you have already installed a "podcatcher" or "podcasting client" on your home or office computer, it is simple to tell Talkr to podcast to your computer. (Which podcasting client should I use?)

  1. Go to your My Feeds page.
  2. Select the feed that you would like to automatically download to your computer.
  3. Copy and paste the link from the podcasting icon image into your podcatcher.
